Class PED 244

This is a photo of my peers in my PED 244 class teaching second graders loco motor and non-loco motor skills.
During this observation I learned about lesson planning and class room management. My peers were given a lesson plan and based upon the age of the children they had to adapt; they had to change the activities to make them developmentally appropriate for the children and they had to do this in a way that was safe for the children and allowed them to keep active. I learned from observing their teaching experience that is helpful to keep the children moving when distributing equipment and it was best to space the children out so that they can not touch each other when giving instructions. To have a successful learning environment when teaching second graders it is very important to have a well thought out and organized lesson plan that includes activities that will keep the student active instead of standing still because this is when most misbehavior's occur.
As a Physical Educator it is important that I keep my students active as much as possible!
